Fuel System Repair
TRUST THE EXPERTS AT WESTON AUTOMOTIVE WITH YOUR CRITICAL CAR MAINTENANCE
Your Fuel System
For reliable operation, your car’s engine needs a well maintained fuel system. The air and fuel filters, fuel injectors and fuel lines must all be performing properly. The professionals at Weston Automotive are experts at maintaining and repairing these systems with a high quality fuel system repair.
Engine Air Filter
Air entering the engine passes through a filter. When the filter becomes clogged, air flow is restricted and the fuel-air mixture is disrupted. The result is an engine that is starving for air and has excess fuel. Performance and gas mileage will be reduced, and if air flow is not restored, the engine will struggle to breathe and could stall. The factory recommends changing the air filter between 15k and 30k miles depending on where you drive. Our ASE-Certified technicians inspect the engine’s air filter at every service.
Engine Fuel Filter
The fuel filter is an often-overlooked, but essential, component. As the name implies, its job is to remove particles from the fuel system. A clogged filter can make the engine hard to start, cause stalling, misfiring and a loss of power. If severely clogged, it can damage the fuel pump by making it work too hard to move the fuel. Fuel filters are relatively inexpensive and should be changed according to the manufacturer's’ schedule. The professionals at Weston Automotive keep track of the periodic service schedule for your car and let you know when it’s time to change the fuel filter.
Fuel-Injection Servicing
Fuel injectors spray a mist of fuel into the engine to be mixed with air for combustion. The fuel sprays through a small opening in the injector nozzles. Over time, these openings can become clogged with deposits. When this happens, you may notice poor acceleration or a rough idle. Our engine experts can diagnose fuel injector problems and have the right equipment to remove deposits. Regular cleaning of the fuel injectors is recommended at 60k-mile intervals.
Fuel Lines
It’s hot in there! Modern engine compartments operate under very high temperatures compared to cars of the past. This can cause fuel lines to age and become brittle. With these high engine temperatures, it’s important to have sound fuel lines. We don’t want leaking fuel to come in contact with hot engine surfaces. At Weston Automotive our ASE-certified technicians will perform a complimentary 37-point inspection at every service. This includes inspecting your fuel lines for condition and wear.
